The collision occurred in Sullivan County on Route 17 at 7:40 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the town of Liberty.

According to Trooper Jennifer Alvarez of the New York State Police, a 2011 Cadillac traveling northwest near the ramp at Exit 110A pulled in front of a 1995 Ford on Route 55, causing the front of the Ford to hit the driver's side of the Cadillac.

Alvarez said the Cadillac driver, David Ullaguari, 69, of Monticello, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Liberty Fire Department.

Once free, Ullaguari was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment. His current condition was not known.
